The Rubaiyat Diamond is one of the major items in this fanon. It's creator and when it was created are both unknown but, according to Ancient Egyptian texts, the diamond is almost 5000 years old. It had many owners ranging from the Ancient Egyptians to King Myles I who is the current owner of the diamond since 1945. The diamond is very powerful but, despite the fact that it can choose whether to give good luck or bad luck, it is not sentient in any way. However, it is capable to have a master in which it can never give said master bad luck as it has to obey its master. So far, only one person is the permanent master of the diamond, and that's King Myles I. As the diamond is on an inheritance basis when it comes to permanent masters, the diamond's master will be the descendants of King Myles I such as Myles, Prince of Connecticut. Also, another way to become master of the diamond is to obtain all seven Chaos Emeralds. However, the mastery from the Chaos Emeralds lasts for as long as one has all seven Chaos Emeralds. So far, Shadow the Hedgehog is the only one to have gained mastery through this method.

History[edit | edit source]

It's unknown how or when the Rubaiyat Diamond was created but, the diamond was discovered in the city of Memphis, Ancient Egypt in 3050 BC. Due to it's unusually clean look it was named "perfect gem" and it made Ancient Egypt successful and powerful until it made the Romans take over in 30 BC. The diamond was taken to Rome where it was known as "Jupiter's Rock" where it made the Roman Empire strong and vast. It was then owned by the Western Roman Empire until Odoacer took it as his personal gem in the Kingdom of Italy in 476 AD. The diamond was given to Francia as a gift where it was called the "Stone of Egypt". It stayed in Francia's possession until 843 when it was put under the ownership of the Holy Roman Empire where it was known as the Kaisersdiamant or "Emperor's Diamond". It stayed under HRE ownership until 1806 when Napoleon Bonaparte took the diamond as a trophy to show that he dismantled the HRE. To prevent it from falling in the wrong hands, Napoleon had it hidden in Switzerland in which it remained there until Napoleon III took it from hiding and kept it in his residence until 1870 when the French authorities seized it and had it on display at the Louvre. The diamond was known as Le diamant du destin or "The Diamond of Destiny" when it was in France. The diamond was taken as a trophy by Adolf Hitler in 1940 in which he named it the Führerdiamant or "Leader Diamond". The diamond was then stolen by James McCloud in 1945 who then gave it to his son who then was able to harness the power of the diamond in 1948, he still owns the diamond to this day.
